Congratulations! You are about to add a new addition to your family. It’s a lifetime commitment! While its an exciting time for you, it can be a rather frightening time of adjustment for your new kitten/cat. Your kitten will be displaced and will need some time to become oriented with the new location of things. Please keep him/her contained in a smaller area at first and protected from other pets and small children.

Before they arrive you will need some basic supplies:
– Stainless-steel food and water bowls (Please keep clean at all times).
– Litter box and cat litter ready. (We use Rubbermaid 10 gallon containers for kittens and Sterilite 25 gallon containers for adults – both are for larger than average cats).
– Plenty of toys like balls and mice to stimulate play (Mylar crinkle balls, springs, fuzzy mice, wands, etc).
– Scratching post or cardboard scratchers.
– Food (See Recommended Foods on our Complete Preparation page.)
* Wheatgrass is also a great grass to grow for your cat and can add much needed live nutrition to their diet.
